M.A.V. Youth Mentoring matches caring adults with children and teens in Mercer, Auglaize, and Van Wert counties in western Ohio. When a young person has a consistent adult mentor, they are more likely to avoid risky behaviors and stay focused on school. That relationship is what we build.

What we do
Foster homes, not kennels.
Animals waiting on adoption with us sleep in real beds, get used to kids and other pets, and arrive at their new family with a behavior profile built over weeks, not a label stuck to a crate.

Adult mentors matched with children ages 6 to 18. Mentor and mentee meet weekly during the school year. Training, background checks, and ongoing match support are standard.
STEM Day
Hands-on science, technology, engineering, and math activities for matches and mentees. Hosted annually with community partners.
Lego Camp
Summer program using Lego-based challenges to build problem-solving skills, teamwork, and creativity. Open to matches and siblings.
Every dollar moves an animal closer to home.
Our budget is public. Over 91% of donations go directly to animal care, not overhead or fundraising.
